3.0 Salary Packaging
3.1 Introduction

EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO SEEK THE ADVICE OF A SALARY PACKAGING CONSULTANT WHEN PACKAGING
FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WHEN PACKAGING A VEHICLE.
3.2 Employees Obligations
When employees negotiate with the University to participate in the Salary Packaging Program, they
also agree to fulfil certain obligations. This is to ensure that the administration of the Program
remains as efficient and cost effective as possible.
Employees' obligations are to:
- Read, understand, and where applicable, sign all documentation relating to their Package.
This would include:
Non Motor Package
- Offer to Salary Package
- Salary Packaging Schedule
- Application for Bookshop Credit Account (where applicable)
- Related Superannuation Forms (where applicable)
Motor Vehicle Package
- Offer to Salary Package
- Salary Packaging Schedule
- Motor Vehicle Agreement
- Use of Vehicle Declaration
- Fringe Benefit Tax Agreement
- Motor Vehicle Delivery Details
- Key Information
Returning a Salary Packaged Vehicle
- Motor Vehicle Disposal form.
- Return any Offer(s), Agreement(s) or Schedule(s) by the due date as per the documentation.
If a due date is not specified on the documentation then it should be returned as soon as possible.
- Check payslips regularly to ensure their Salary Sacrifice is being deducted and correct.
- Report any errors or discrepancies in (1) - (3) to the Salary Packaging Office immediately.
IF A SALARY PACKAGED BENEFIT IS ALREADY SUBJECT TO A DEDUCTION THROUGH THE PAYROLL SYSTEM - IT
IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYEE TO CANCEL THAT DEDUCTION WITH PAYROLL
- Advise the Salary Packaging Office, in writing, of any of the following:
- Change of name,
- Change of internal address and/or phone number,
- Change of home address and/or phone number,
- Change in service fraction eg from full time to part-time,
- Change of bank account details,
- Change of any other details that are relevant to your package,
- If you will be absent at your package review,
- Intention to take "pay in advance" of more than one month,
- Intention of taking paid leave at less than full pay,
- Intention of taking leave without pay, and
- Intention to resign or take redundancy.
Email is an acceptable form of communication.
